WHO classification for adults and children
This new version of FUCHIA has being adapted to the new staging classification for adults and children of WHO (2006 Revision). Pathologies, which have been organised by alphabetical order for ease of use, can be selected from the corresponding drop-downbox menu (“Clinical conditions during this follow-up visit"). All the automatic reports calculate now the appropriate cumulative WHO stage using both the opportunistic infections entered on the follow-up forms and the age of the patient at the last date of the selected period of the report.
Please be aware that, because the new WHO classification is age-dependent, FUCHIA will not calculate the WHO stage for patients for whom the date of birth (or the age) has not been specified.
-
New laboratory variables
Measurements of creatinine (in µmol/l) and ALAT (in UI/ml) can now be entered in the laboratory section of the “Follow-up form”. This information is also exported by the blood collection data export and by the patient wide data export. Furthermore, WHO grades of renal (creatinine) and hepatic (ALAT) toxicity can now be entered in the section “intolerances” of the same form. The grades considered are those specified in the WHO guidelines (2006 Revision).
-
Filters
Direct filters on the “Tuberculosis” and “End of pregnancy” forms have been activated, so you can now retrieve the form corresponding to any patients for whom the FUCHIA ID has been specified.
- Specification of age on the patient form
To clarify the specification of the age of the patient, we have changed the labels of the corresponding variables. As before, if you know the date of birth of the patient you will enter only this information on the patient form. If you do not know this information, you will enter the age (specifying whether this is in years, months or days) and the date at which the age was asked. FUCHIA will then automatically calculate the date of birth of the patient.
- Standard and ARV reports
These reports have also been amended to include the new age-grouping defined by WHO: children (<15 years), and adolescents and adults (>15 years).
- Adapted patient and follow-up forms
The amended patient and follow-up forms are also available for download in English and French.
- Tuberculosis R report
A new automatic R report has been added to FUCHIA 1.6. This report
calculates indicators for patients both, co-infected with HIV and
tuberculosis and who were started on tuberculosis treatment during the
selected time period. As for other reports you will be able to specify
the period of time to be covered by the report, as well as the age
group and sex of the patients.
