This nutrition and retrospective mortality survey was conducted in January 2007 to evaluate the situation of the population covered by the MSF-Belgium project in Pibor county (south-eastern Sudan). The situation appeared precarious in terms of mortality and severe in terms of nutrition. Measles vaccination coverage was low and access to health care was still limited. In such conditions, MSF should continue and increase its interventions.
